Something other than either2 o'clock, July 21, 2006From a link in a Cosmic Variance comment thread comes the BBC’s Your sex i.d. profile. My score, on a scale from 100% “female” to 100% “male”? Zero. Of course, nobody who’s posted about it on CV has gotten anything other than zero or fifty. It’s like a long and involved LJ quiz, only it doesn’t generate a fancy block of HTML for you to blog. Therefore, this ugly list (below the cut, ’cause it’s ugly. Update: Via Anna FDD, this much shorter QuizFarm version. Anna’s comment “I have yet to find somebody who scored something other than ‘Either’.” (In honor of which I’ve renamed this post.)

Huh, I got female on the second quiz as well. |

Honestly, that Ultimatum test? Most people I know offered 25. It might be a binary discriminator, but I don't think the relevant values are "male" and "female." (I didn't score as "either," either.) |

I appear to be gender-neutral as well. |
|
On the BBC quiz, I scored 25 on the male side. I scored above the average for both genders in all the tests, but yet ended up male. Hmm... On the Quiz Farm, I scored "either" with the female ranking as the lowest. I'm not male, by the way. |

Hey - thanks for your detailed comments question by question on this test! I think the main thing this test demonstrated was that these type of tests are fairly random in the results and cannot be taken seriously. Doesn't mean that we can't have fun with them though! Just don't draw any conclusions from the results... |

You’re welcome! Yeah, I particularly liked how the breakdowns of the answers made nonsense of several of the questions, at least as predictors of gender... |
I rate as female on the second quiz. The BBC one I haven't finished yet as I don't know where I keep rulers/measuring tape/etc.
