Goddamn nameless dread

12 o'clock, May 12, 2006

Why do I suddenly feel like something awful is about to happen and I’ve forgotten to prepare for it? (And why am I asking you when hardly any of you are awake?)

Comments

I have some dread as well, David. Mine is more tied up with US economics than anything else, about peak oil and the devaluing of the dollar and the monoculture farming here. I may be scaring myself needlessly, but I just get this feeling in my bones that this country is going to collapse at any moment.

It’s not entirely by chance that my salary is now in Swiss francs while my debts are still in dollars.

I was thinking it was something more personal and less zeitgeisty, but maybe it is just that the world’s coming to an end.

I'M COMING TO SWITZERLAND!!

Just kidding. But I bet that nameless dread just got a lot less nameless ;)

Also, the Mayans believed (and perhaps some still do) that the world would end (as I recall) December 12, 2008. You got some time.

Everything is true, right?

—— David Moles, 6:56 AM, Friday, May 12, 2006

You do remember you've a book coming out in two weeks, right?

—— Scott Janssens, 7:14 AM, Friday, May 12, 2006

Even false things are true... Don't ask me, man. I didn't do it.

You forgot to put in those corrections, didn't you? Ah well.

(Don't forget, our eldritch masters return next Tuesday. I've got you down for beer, 12 bazookas, and a translation of the Necronomicon. Beer, bazookas, book, got it? And don't be bringing any Swiss beer, we want the real Belgian or German stuff.)

Dude, just because you're in Switzerland, doesn't mean you have to keep listening to that Lost Recordings of Erich Zahn CD. That'll unnerve anyone.
