For those of you who enjoyed Cory’s “Anda’s Game,” and/or for the WoWers out there (you know who you are), the real-life (real-virtual-life?) version: a fascinating piece on gold farming from one “Paul,” a player who’s spent the time to get to know the farmers on his server.
Thanks for the link, David. I find this whole idea of mixing in-world and real-world economies fascinating. Unfortunately, a debate over whether or not members of my guild should be able to buy gold almost cost several friendships. It's strange. You think it's just a game, but because there's so much verisimilitude involved (and so many hours!), it becomes a lot like real life.
