An unhealthy obsession with madeleines

In the New York Times, of all places. Documented by Tom Tomorrow.

The madeleine thing is actually quite fabulous. Because everyone knows about it, it allows you to assume an air of great literary authority without: (1) actually reading anything, or (2) alientating others who also have not read anything. I'm a fan. A++++ would allude again.

Maybe we should start trying to promelgate a few literary nihilartikels-- stuff about the existential chill of the beach scene in Mrs. Dalloway, or Immanuel Kant's obsesion with the soul-nourishing warmth of horse breath.
