Jim White is a sharp cookie

6 o'clock, August 13, 2005

You get a chance to see “Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus,” you take it. You get a chance to see it when Jim White’s in town to talk about the film and play some tunes, so much the better.

(Also, anyone tell me if Harry Crews is worth reading? As a storyteller, in this thing, he was really something else.)

Comments

Yay! I love Jim White; can't wait to see it. (His second album is actually better than Wrong-Eyed Jesus, but that song is a knock-out.)

Anyway.

Yes, on the Harry Crews -- some very good stuff. I'll send you a list.

Can't remember the name of Crews' autobiography, but it's great. Find it. When I was young, I was fond of his stuff, but I'm not sure how well it stands up.

Dammit! A friend and I tried to go, but it was all sold out and we were denied.
