Unreconstructed

So, California’s state song may be fluffy and forgettable, but at least it’s not a call to assassinate Lincoln like “Maryland, my Maryland.”

Comments

Huh—the California state song doesn't rhyme at the end:

It is here nature gives of her rarest,
It is Home Sweet Home to me.
And I know when I die I shall breathe my last sigh
For my sunny California.

Unless they pronounce it "Californi-ee"?

Amazing how much pronunciation can drift in a few generations, eh? :)
