Looks like "All-Star Giant Rubber Monster Adventure Stories" is off...7 o'clock, March 21, 2005...on account of someone else is already doing it. (And Jonathan Strahan uses ASZAS as a point of reference for it. I can’t help but be amused. Or perhaps bemused.) Let me know if it’s any good, ’kay? I like giant monsters as much as the next guy. (Speaking of which, the next Irrational History should be up on “schedule” tomorrow. Without giving anything away, it has something to do with this post from John Holbo.) |

Robots. Robots. Robots. "All-Star Robot Adventure Stories"! Robots! |
Jeremy-- Don't worry: it'll be worth the wait. With the latest TTA and Interzone, Andy outdid himself once again. And indeed: inadvertently "Daikaiju" popped into my head when I read "The Kansas Jayhawk vs. The Midwestern Monster Squad" the first time. I even wondered if Robert Hood had bounced it... His loss, our gain. Still, I'm tempted to buy "Daikaiju"... |
Oh, and Greg: another Australian--Robert N. Stephenson of Altair--is doing an anthology "The Time of Robots". No, give us "All-Star Psychedelic Time Travelling Surreal Stoner Detective Stories"! |
I assume you saw the announcement of Scalzi's all-cliches issue of Subterranean? Not quite the same kind of thing as the pulpy anthos, but in a related ballpark, maybe. |
The antho listing is what gave me the idea for my Interzone story that just hit the stand (everywhere but Wyoming). Seems everyone on the planet has their copies but me, grr.
Anyway, looking forward to the next Irrational Histories post.
