The People’s flag is deepest red2 o'clock, November 26, 2003Sometimes Google serves up the weirdest stuff: Long viewed as a symbol of communistic repression and a threat to the West, the flag of the Soviet Union, with its Hammer and Sickle, attests to the prophetic destiny of God on this great nation.
— Jay Rodgers, “Mikhail Gorbachev: The True Meaning of the Soviet Flag”, April 1991. Comrade Rodgers is apparently also the distributor of the educational videotapes “God’s Law and Society” and “The Beast of Revelation Identified”. |

Also, the proof is in the pudding, and the exception proves the rule. Although not so much according to Google: that seems to be more "x-proof" meaning proof against x, and—hmm. The word "proof" has just gone all wonky on me. It no longer looks like a word. I think I'd better stop. —— Jed Alfred Proofrock, 9:31 AM, Thursday, November 27, 2003 |

I’ll see what I can do, Gwenda; but since I’ve been awake for 32 of the last 36 hours, I may be a little slow. (Memo: No matter how good an idea it seems when you’re booking the tickets, no itinerary that involves the one A.M. to Minneapolis is going to seem like a good idea on the day.) |
Does this mean you and I alone will be the stalwart and true updaters over Thanksgiving weekend? Update, people, update!
At this particular moment the thing I find google most idiosyncratic on is the word "proof". See, a really fine bourbon of 147 proof is one thing, but the Pythagorean theorem is another entirely. We don't need to debate which is more fun.
