I think the tax cuts were a dumb idea at this time. You don't massively increase spending and cut taxes. You cut taxes in times of fat.
I personally think the Dems should be hammering on this particular point, rather than trying to sell the whole "Bush duped us on the war". Nobody's buying it, but hammering him on his sloppy economic policy would resonate with most Americans.
